history1

August 5, 1958 was marked by the beginning of development of the Port of Ilyichevsk.

Like in every prosperous Soviet port of that period, in September 1962 the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the USSR set up an office of the foreign trade association ''Soyouzvneshtrans'' in the town of Ilyichevsk (Ukraine).

The main goal for the trade association of the Ilyichevsk department of ''Soyouzvneshtrans'' was to organize freight forwarding handling of the cargo turn-over of imports and exports via the port of Ilyichevsk.

1968 – extension of Soyouzvneshtrans' manufacturing capacity and interportal area, gaining functions of a land port, development as a port base, one of four similar bases in the whole Soviet area.

history2On October 15, 1968 the first wagons arrived to the company's territory for handling. Total amount of the cotton export in the USSR came up to 1 million tons, and exactly half of it was exported to India, Pakistan, Indonesia as well as to European, African and South American countries via the port of Ilyichevsk. The freight traffic of cotton was organized on a large scale in the company's port base.

1975 – a container terminal was built both in the Sea Port of Ilyichevsk and on the premises of our company, which was the result of development of container shipping in the country.

During the next few years ''Soyouzvneshtrans'' had been growing, expanding and upgrading its facilities. In 1993 it finally became the CJSC ''Ilyichevskvneshtrans'' after transformation into a joint-stock company. The larger half of shares belonged to the labour collective.

history3Early and middle 1990s – successful export of cotton and increase in container shipping. But in 1997 the cotton industry was facing deep crisis, which caused searching new cargo flows. As a result, the company ''Ilyichevskvneshtrans'' has become one of the first firm forwarders of tank wagons with hot oils (coconut oil, palm-oil etc.) from Indonesia and Singapore.

The late 1990s – relations between former Soviet countries became rather strained, which resulted in some difficulties. Due to this fact, the CJSC 'Ilyichevskvneshtrans' developed a new business stream – handling of sugar cargo.

During 1998-2000 - trading zones of the Sea Port of Ilyichevsk were created. In that period 'Ilyichevskvneshtrans' became one of the partners of the JV "AvtoZAZ-DAEWOO".

In December, 2000 to the order #638 of Ukrainian Customs Service 'Ilyichevskvneshtrans' was registered in the register of companies (under #4), to which the most favoured nation treatment in the process of export and import was accorded.

Since 2000 capacity building for producing vehicle sets in Europe has begun. Therefore, in 2001-2002 the vehicle sets were transported from Poland: the large sized ones to Ilyichevsk, and the smaller ones to Zaporizhzhya. As the result, the CJSC 'Ilyichevskvneshtrans' established itself as a leader in the JV "AvtoZAZ-DAEWOO" project.

2003 became the period of trip working of vehicle sets from Poland. The ''Ilyichevskvneshtrans'' handled 25 container trains, which were running to the tight schedule (175 containers were utilized permanently). 30% of the whole Ukrainian container handling fell to the share of our company.

2004 – the company's production manager V.P. Yakimov was entitled to the honored transport worker of Ukraine for the container shipping and trip working development.

In 2005 the security service of the company finished its forming.

After the Lisky's monopoly had entered the freight forwarding market, the container shipping turnover decreased, but, nevertheless, construction of a new container terminal was progressing actively, the facilities were being upgraded, the technological composition ( 2 stocks of freight cars, 4 km of own railway lines) was being improved, and of course the 'Ilyichevskvneshtrans' continued its functioning as a land port.

The company was a dead storage of the Sea Port of Ilyichevsk.

In 2011 the CJSC ''Ilyichevskvneshtrans'' was transformed into the Public Company 'Ilyichevskvneshtrans'.

So far, our company's successful functioning is based on three foundations:
